대규모 인원이 참가하는 행사가 끝나면 참가 인원수가 집계되어 발표된다. 하지만 같은 행사임에도 불구하고 인원수가 많게는
5배까지 차이가 나는 경우가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 좀 더 정확한 인원수를 추정하기 위해 사진 속의 사람들의 수를 통해
추정하는 방법을 수학적으로 고안하였다. 사진을 찍는 시간을 최대 인원이 모이는 시각을 선정하였다. 또한, 사진 속의 면적은
실제와 다르게 원근이 나타나므로 소실점이 발생하고 이를 이용하여 사진 속의 넓이의 비를 실제 넓이의 비로 보정하고자 하였다. 마지막으로 사진 속의 넓이를 일정하게 분할하여 각 구간의 인구수를 정리하여 통계적으로 인원수를 추정하였다.

In the completion of a big festival that involves many people, the number of participants wil be anounced.
There could be up to 5 times diferences in estimation, Therefore in this study, we designed a mathematical method
for estimating the number of people in the event more precisely through photographs. We selected the time when
people are mostly gathered. In adition, we noticed that the area in the photograph is diferent from the actual
area(festival) and the unseable areas of vanishing points can be apeared. To amend this eror, we considered
the ratio of the area in the photograph to the actual festival area. Finaly, we divided the area in the photograph
that have same actual area and organized the population of each section to estimate the number of people
statisticaly.
