As we experienced the Gyeongju earthquake and the Pohang earthquake, our earthquake-preparing system and
building durability were clearly exposed. Seismic designs are not yet applied to buildings built in the past, and
those currently being built are still lacking in seismic design technology. Therefore, we conducted a study to find
a seismic design method suitable for the characteristics of Korea's earthquake by paying attention to the
vulnerability of the earthquake—preparing system and among them the earthquake-resistant design. To find the
most suitable seismic design method for our school's building structure, to carry out the seismic design of wooden
houses by using the traditional Korean house's construction method, and to find the roof structure with excellent
seismic performance. And in the process, the earthquake generating system was designed and manufactured directly
to artificially implement vibrations with the characteristics of Korea's earthquakes.
